The Birthplace of Squamish Climbers' Advocacy (1985) This photo at Neat and Cool in late 1985 shows the prow of what was once the route "Hans Groper", drilled out for blasting to make a road for a proposed development. "Kangaroo Corner" is just to its right. Shortly after the photo was taken the drilled prow was blown up, and that sad occasion caused Kevin McLane and John Howe to found the Squamish Rockclimbers Association and begin advocacy efforts on behalf of Squamish climbing. |
